Warranty Policy

1. Legal Warranty (EU Consumer Law)

Under EU consumer law, customers are entitled to a statutory legal warranty on all products purchased from DLC Brothers. This means that products must conform to the contract and meet reasonable expectations of quality, functionality, durability, and description.

This legal warranty applies for a period of up to 2 years from the date of delivery, in accordance with EU Directive (EU) 2019/771.

Nothing in this policy limits or excludes your statutory rights under applicable EU consumer protection laws.


2. What Is Covered

The legal warranty covers defects that were present at the time of delivery, including but not limited to:

  • Manufacturing defects

  • Faulty stitching, seams, or construction

  • Print defects not caused by wear or improper care

  • Incorrect items or production errors

If a defect appears within 12 months of delivery, it is legally presumed to have existed at the time of delivery unless proven otherwise.


3. What Is Not Covered

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear

  • Damage caused by improper use, misuse, or negligence

  • Damage caused by failure to follow washing or care instructions

  • Shrinkage, fading, or deterioration caused by incorrect washing or drying

  • Damage caused by alterations, repairs, or modifications by third parties

  • Accidental damage after delivery

These exclusions do not affect your statutory rights where applicable.


4. Warranty Remedies

If a product does not conform to the contract, you are entitled to one of the following remedies, depending on the situation:

  1. Repair of the product

  2. Replacement with the same or equivalent product

  3. Partial refund

  4. Full refund (if repair or replacement is impossible or disproportionate)

The chosen remedy will comply with EU consumer law and will be provided free of charge, including shipping costs where applicable.


5. How to Make a Warranty Claim

To submit a warranty claim, please contact us within a reasonable time after discovering the defect and provide:

  • Your order number

  • A clear description of the issue

  • Clear photos or videos showing the defect

We aim to respond to warranty requests within a reasonable timeframe.


6. Burden of Proof

  • Within 12 months of delivery: The defect is presumed to have existed at delivery unless proven otherwise.

  • After 12 months and up to 2 years: You may be asked to demonstrate that the defect existed at the time of delivery.

This process will always be handled in accordance with EU consumer law.


7. Pre-Orders

Warranty rights apply equally to pre-order items. The warranty period begins on the date the product is delivered, not the date the order was placed.


8. Relationship to Returns & Right of Withdrawal

This Warranty Policy is separate from your 14-day right of withdrawal under EU consumer law.

  • The right of withdrawal allows you to return an item without giving a reason within 14 days of delivery.

  • The warranty applies to defective or non-conforming products beyond that period.

9. No Commercial Warranty

Unless explicitly stated otherwise, DLC Brothers does not offer an additional commercial warranty beyond the statutory legal warranty required under EU law.

Any statements about product quality, durability, or care do not constitute an extension of the statutory warranty.


10. Limitation

This Warranty Policy applies only to products purchased directly from DLC Brothers through our official website. Products purchased from third-party retailers are subject to the warranty policies of those sellers.


11. Governing Law

This Warranty Policy is governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Netherlands and applicable EU consumer protection legislation.
